Misión Minera se reunión con ejecutivos de Rio Tinto, Anglo American y Enax en Brisbane

Andrés Jara, gerente comercial de Pares&Alvarez, destacó la conversación con Edmundo Jimenez, vicepresidente de Enaex Australia, quien contó sobre el crecimiento y expansión mundial de la compañía desde el 2010.

Ayer martes finalizó la primera parte de la Misión Minera en Brisbane, en donde la delegación visitó las oficinas de la Minera Rio Tinto, compañía que cuenta con operaciones en 35 países, en donde se reunieron con Lucas Bartoldo, GM Procerement, y su equipo. Además, según informó Andrés Jara, gerente comercial de Pares&Alvarez, quien es parte de la delegación junto con representantes de otras 14 compañías chilenas, “el grupo asistió a un centro de investigación aplicada de la Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) de Australia y nos reunimos con ejecutivos de Glencore y Anglo American”.

El lunes las actividades se iniciaron en la sede del Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), en Brisbane, con una reunión presidida por Mathew Andrew, General Manager of Queensland Operations of the TIQ, quien expuso acerca del rol de la identidad en el fomento del comercio exterior para el gobierno de Queensland y su disposición a apoyar a las empresas chilenas para la realización de negocios en la región.

Luego el grupo se trasladó a Orica, en donde los recibió Benny Chen, Senior Manager Measurement Technology at Orica y un equipo de 8 personas, quienes expusieron acerca de los productos y servicios que tienen disponibles para toda la cadena de valor de explotación minera, desde la exploración, todas las etapas de la producción, hasta los relaves. Andrés Jara señaló que la reunión fue muy interesante y que tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer la fábrica de Ground Probe en donde se especializan en soluciones en tiempo real para medir y monitorear geo amenazas.

Durante la tarde del lunes la delegación se reunió con Edmundo Jimenez, Vicepresidente de Enaex Australia, quien contó sobre el crecimiento y expansión mundial de Enaex desde el 2010, y conversó con el grupo acerca de los desafíos que implica el hacer negocios en Australia, finalmente, ese día visitaron una filial de Sustainable Minerals Institute.

Hoy la Misión Minera amaneció en Sídney, en donde asisten a la Conferencia Internacional de Minería y Recursos (IMARC, por sus siglas en inglés), foro que se extenderá por tres días, en donde expertos analizarán los retos y oportunidades más importantes a los que se enfrenta actualmente toda la cadena de valor del sector minero. Al evento asisten más de 7.500 personas de 108 países.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the first part of the Mining Mission ended in Brisbane, where the delegation visited the offices of Rio Tinto Mining, a company with operations in 35 countries, where they met with Lucas Bartoldo, GM Procerement, and his team. In addition, according to Andrés Jara, Marketing &Business Development at Pares&Alvarez, who is part of the delegation together with representatives of 14 other Chilean companies, “the group attended an applied research center of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) of Australia and we met with executives of Glencore and Anglo American”.

On Monday, the activities began at the headquarters of Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), in Brisbane, with a meeting chaired by Mathew Andrew, General Manager of Queensland Operations of the TIQ, who spoke about the role of the identity in the promotion of foreign trade for the Queensland government and its willingness to support Chilean companies in doing business in the region.

The group then moved to Orica, where they were received by Benny Chen, Senior Manager Measurement Technology at Orica, and a team of 8 people, who presented the products and services they have available for the entire mining value chain, from exploration, all stages of production, to tailings. Andrés Jara said that the meeting was very interesting and that they had the opportunity to visit the Ground Probe factory where they specialize in real-time solutions for measuring and monitoring geohazards.
On Monday afternoon, the delegation met with Edmundo Jimenez, Vice President of Enaex Australia, who spoke about the growth and global expansion of Enaex since 2010 and talked with the group about the challenges of doing business in Australia. Finally, that day they visited a subsidiary of the Sustainable Minerals Institute.
