Pares&Alvarez takes part at the Water Congress 2025
Pares&Alvarez reaffirms his commitment to sustainable and safe mining development, as well as to the responsible management of a resource essential to life and industry: water. In this vein, the company is participating in the Water Congress 2025, an international event organized by Gecamin that brings together leading experts to discuss challenges and advancements in water management, technology, and sustainability.
Representing the company are Cristian Weissmann, Business Development Manager – Mining, and Rodrigo Peñailillo, Commercial Manager for the Environment, who highlight the importance of this forum for promoting responsible and climate-resilient mining.
“The Water Congress is a key forum for strengthening networks, exchanging knowledge, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration around the challenges facing the industry. Efficient water management is a strategic pillar for the future of the mining sector,” stated Cristian Weissmann.
For his side, Rodrigo Peñailillo noted that “the importance of participating in this conference gives us the opportunity to learn firsthand about the technological advancements that are redefining water management on a global scale. Listening to experts and sharing experiences is key to continuing to drive an industry that combines productivity, innovation, and sustainability.”
Among the conference’s central themes was the strengthening of communities through water security. Innovative solutions were presented that promote direct collaboration with local communities to implement safer and more resilient drinking water systems. This approach seeks not only to address technical challenges—such as assessing geological hazards in coastal areas—but also to establish robust water governance that ensures equitable and sustainable access to the resource.
