AUSCHAM INAUGURATES NEW OFFICE IN CONCEPCIÓN

On April 7, the Chilean-Australian Chamber of Commerce (Auscham) officially inaugurated its new office in Concepción, in a ceremony held at the Wyndham Concepción Pettra Hotel. This milestone reinforces the organisation’s commitment to decentralisation and to strengthening its nationwide presence, positioning Concepción as a strategic hub for industrial development in southern Chile, particularly in sectors such as port operations, forestry, metalworking, and related services.

The event was attended by regional authorities, including the Governor of the Biobío Region, Sergio Giacaman, and the Regional Minister (Seremi) of Economy, Development and Tourism, Christian Cifuentes, as well as representatives from the public, academic, and business sectors.

Representing Auscham were the Australian Ambassador to Chile, Andrew Martin; its President, Christian González; and its General Manager, Ximena López, along with executives from member companies in the region.

Notable attendees included Sebastián Illanes, General Manager of ASMAR; Víctor Contreras, CEO of Pares&Alvarez; and Christian González, Executive Director of Grupo C&G Servicios Industriales, in addition to representatives from various companies affiliated with the Chamber.

The academic sector was also present, with participation from the University of Concepción, INACAP, and Universidad San Sebastián, further strengthening the link between industry, innovation, and talent development.
