Pares&Alvarez present at the Sectoral Table of Manufacturing in Smart Industry in the Biobío Region

16 of June of 2025

With the purpose of connecting the industry with the use of artificial intelligence (AI), the Sectoral Table of Manufacturing and Smart Industry was held, where the manager of Information Technologies, Carlos Arestizabal, and the head of the Continuous Improvement department, Carlos Muñoz, both from Pares & Alvarez, participated in the discussion on the challenges of integrating AI in industrial and labour processes.

The event was organized by the FIC project “Advanced Human Capital in Artificial Intelligence for Biobío”, which is financed by the Regional Government and executed by the Council of Rectors of the Chilean Universities of Biobío and Ñuble. The event brought together authorities, representatives of the academic world, companies and unions. The main objective of the table was to strengthen the connection between industry and the use of artificial intelligence in production processes.

Arestizabal explained that although Pares&Alvarez is not a manufacturing company, from an engineering perspective he sees how technology is transforming the way the industry operates. “Our aspiration at P&A is precisely to add technology more deeply to our customers’ value chain, supporting them to connect processes, people and data. That step towards a smarter industry requires collaboration, and we believe that engineering has a lot to contribute there.”

For his part, Muñoz values the fact that organizations such as Pares&Alvarez actively participate in these sectoral instances, as it strengthens the vision of investing in improving processes and allows us to learn about the experiences of other companies.

P&A executives gave a joint presentation on Continuous Improvement and IT, where they showed the real impact that AI can have when applied with a focus on processes and business improvements. “Artificial intelligence is not just a trendy technology, but as a concrete tool to transform,” said Pares&Alvarez executives.
