Tesoro Gold Ltda. announced a new milestone in the process to build and operate the El Zorro Project gold mine, located in the Atacama region, after beginning the preparation of an Environmental Impact Study (EIA) as part of the permitting process to obtain the Environmental Qualification (RCA) and the main sectoral permits required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tesoro Gold announced that it has appointed the engineering firm Pares & Alvarez (P&A) to carry out the EIA. The local firm will conduct a baseline study to assess the potential environmental and social impacts of the project, as well as prepare all the documentation required for submission to Chile’s Environmental Impact Assessment System, with the aim of achieving an RCA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this announcement, the permitting process begins, which allows Tesoro to align approval milestones with its other development activities, to continue moving forward and reduce project risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To achieve these objectives, advanced metallurgical tests will be carried out to obtain greater details regarding the reservoir, while also maintaining a firm commitment to water and energy infrastructure providers to ensure the necessary supply during all stages of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It also highlights an active and continuous relationship with key government agencies and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective coordination. In addition, exploratory drilling activities are ongoing, with the aim of expanding the existing mineral resource in the La Ternera area and increasing confidence in the classification of the deposit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tesoro Gold Ltda. discovered the first Intrusive Gold System in Chile for 1.3 million ounces in the area of La Ternera, Copiap\u00f3. There are already multiple copper and gold mines operated by large mining companies in that district, so there is established infrastructure, service providers and an experienced mining workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Large areas of the Cordillera de la Costa remain unexplored due to the unconsolidated nature of mining concession ownership, but Tesoro, through its in-country network and expertise, has been able to secure rights to the El Zorro gold project at the district scale in line with the Company’s strategy.
